Who is Mike Payton?

I’m a 25 year old freelance web designer and front-end web developer based in Warrington, Cheshire with five years of personal and professional experience in the web design industry.

I studied Multimedia Systems (Bsc) Hons at Liverpool John Moores University where I achieved a 2:1. During my degree I got my first design job at MBL Design Ltd and worked there for 1 year as part of my course. My main job role here was as a web designer where I worked on both small and large websites. As well as being a web designer at MBL I also created 3D models using 3D Studio Max and produced work for blue chip clients. The work I did was then vacuum formed and displayed in stores such as Boots, Superdrug, Lloyds Chemist and Asda.

After leaving university I was approached by Gud Design where my role was the same as at MBL Design. I would work with the client all the way from the design brief to the front end code and even dabbled in a bit of PHP now and again. Gud Design is also a franchise of printing.com so I got to learn about the printing process. My time at Gud Design was an enjoyable one where I learnt many valuable skills!

I currently work for Autotrader Digital working in a large design team which probably produces more websites than any other web company in the world!
